Planting & Care
1. Planting: First, select a location with well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade – any area with approximately 4 to 8 hours of sunlight per day with a bit of dappled shade is perfect.
When you’re ready to plant your Summer Crush®, dig a hole that’s about two to two and a half times the size of your plant’s root ball, place it in the hole, back fill the soil and water to settle the roots.
2. Watering: Your Summer Crush® Hydrangea is heat tolerant, but it’s important to have a regular watering schedule. Water your Hydrangea Shrub about once weekly or more often in extreme heat and check the surrounding soil – if your soil is dry, about 3 inches down, it’s time to water your plant.3. Fertilizing: Feed your Summer Crush® with a well-balanced blend in early spring, before flowering begins.
4. Pruning: Remove any wild branches, or prune for a desired shape and size during late summer or fall, after flowering is complete.
